1916 | Nitta Shipyard was established along the Shirinashi River in Osaka City, with a site of 10,000 tsubo (about 1.5 square meters) and five berths. There, he built his own vessels and engaged in short sea shipping routes. |
1921 | The shipbuilding business was discontinued, and the company concentrated on the shipping business. Nitta Shipyard was sold to Fujinagata Shipyard when they were expanded. |
After 1922 | With the passage of time, the company switched from small vessels to large ones, and later on, it dissolved Nitta Kisen K.K. in a developmental manner and established Naigai Kisen K.K. Between 1922 and 1928, the company purchased the "Taisei Maru" (6,800 DWT) and several other vessels, and engaged mainly in the transportation of American Lumber and North Sea lumber. Furthermore, between 1936 and 1945, the company newly built the Kasuga Maru, Fushimi Maru, Tenryu Maru, Shinryu Maru, Shinkoku Maru, and other vessels at the current Hitachi Zosen Innoshima Shipyard, and engaged in shipping business with a total capacity of approximately 86,000 dwt. However, due to the outbreak of World War II in 1941, all of his ships were requisitioned by the Army and Navy, or were involved in the war and sunk, so he had no choice but to dissolve the company in 1945. |
1955.12 | Nitta Kisen Kaisha Ltd. was established in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
